Minister’s convoy knocks down woman

RAHA: A local woman died in Raha when she was knocked down by a car in the convoy of a minster on Monday spreading shock and anger across the state.

The bizarre incident took place in the morning when water resources minister Keshab Mahanta’s convoy was on the way to Nagaon.

As the convoy arrived in Saragaon, the woman tried to quickly cross the four-lane highway where one the cars knocked down the woman.

Identified as Minu Devi, the inhabitant  of Pub Saragaon village died on the spot.

But the local residents here blamed it all on the minister’s convoy for rash driving which resulted in the tragic incident.
