Fear psychosis grips Khoirabari

TANGLA,Dec 3: Fear psychosis grips the people of Khoirabari two days after the security forces eliminated ULFA top leader Rajen Deka which is shrouded in dire controversy.

The villagers are still panic stricken after they came across the dreadful night dominated by the sounds of gun fight which lasted for nearly three hours.

The most panic stricken family belongs to Kosheswar Deka who allegedly gave shelter to the 44 year old self-styled commandant of 27  Battalion ULFA(I) Rajan Deka alias Rajan Axom just before the encounter.

The villagers, mostly, said even in the time of crop cutting they have been spending sleepless nights fearing a rerun of the gunfight.

The security forces have yet to release  Bharat Deka after he was arrested for sheltering the rebel.

A section of the villagers are fearing the rush of more armed rebels to take on the security forces to take revenge of the great loss.  They think that the rebels might try to attack the villagers accusing them of spying against them or passing inputs to the police.

Some others believe that the aide of Rajen Deka might have been hiding there to strike again who managed to escape the security forced.  The security forces are ewusllg keeping a close watch on the movement of the people since they have intensified patrolling in the entire area.
