Naga rebels strike terror in Ledo coal mining

 

GUWAHATI: An uneasy situation prevails in the Ledo a day after a gang of Naga rebels unless terror at a coal mining forcing the authority to step in with adequate force.

The epicentre is Kaliori in Tikok, a remote area along the Assam-Arunachal Pradesh border where a group of armed Naga rebels stormed into the area and struck terror by setting afire a dumper belonging to NE Coal.

 

Then they started blank firing terrorizing around 100 employees belonging to Coal India Limited and NE Coal who were trapped inside the area till early in the morning.

Later, Ledo police and para military forces reached the spot and help the trapped employees come out. But by then the rebels vanished from the spot.

The sudden movement of the Naga rebels assumes significance amid the controversial confabulation to integate the Naga inhibited areas of Assam, Arunachal Pradesh and Manipur in the name of the greater Nagalim.
