GOLAGHAT:A joint AGP-BJP team is on a stock taking visit to the Assam-Nagaland border in Golaghat onSaturday.
Led by minister and AGP president Atul Bora, the team is visiting Merapani and Dhansiri areas bordering Nagaland where a section of the neighbors has been allegedly harassing their counterparts in Assam.
Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal dispatched the delegation comprising MP Kamakhya Prasad Tasa, BJP MLA Tapan Gogoi, AGP MLA Pradeep Hazarika who are assessing the situation.
Sonowal sent the team a couple of days after another team led by BJP legislator Mrinal Saikia visited the border areas. But the team did not visit the tense areas to avoid controversy.
A section of Naga people allegedly launched a new sub division Okai on the soil of Assam in full view of police and para military forces posted there. But there is no official confirmation neither from Assam nor from Nagaland.
