Karbi outfit expresses ire over TV report

The People’s Democratic Council of Karbi-longri (PDCK) Thursday rubbished what it term ed as a “strange” news report aired by News 18 on November 7, 2017 with graphics of photographs and videos on the basis of a police claim.

“The news report emphatically asserted that our Home Secretary, Mir-ang Sir-ang was and is directly involved in cases of poaching rhinos in the Kaziranga National Park. The allegation made by the greedy Assam Police personnel and corrupt forest department officials against PDCK and its Home Secretary for killing rhinos is baseless and fabricated. It is an insinuation of the worst kind manufactured out of thin air in order to tarnish the image of this promising revolutionary organization,” said Nongme Tungjang, General Secretary of the outfit.

This is a natural and a standard operating procedure of imperial propaganda campaign. On the other hand, this is an attempt to divert attentions of both government and general public to an insurgent organization from rhino poaching mafia, which is certainty working hand in glove with the police and the forest guards, he added.

The outfit feels that the propaganda will mislead the concerned citizens and officials to bark up the wrong tree, which will facilitate the work of this unique mode of looting public property. In fact, it is due to the symbiotic tie among the trio- Assam Police, the Department of Forest and the Bangladeshi immigrants that the rhino population is dwindling day by day. Assam Police and the Department of Forest are now using hypodermic needle theory of propaganda to shroud their true faces from the sight of the people.

PDCK is committed to preventing rhino poaching in Kazir Arong or Kaziranga at any cost and we shall always stand against the rhino poachers,” concluded Tungjang in a communiqué.
