NDFB-S rebel held in Kokrajhar
Security forces in Kokrajhar claimed to have apprehended yet another NDFB-S rebel along with an over ground worker (OGW) at Dwimuguri village under Panbari police outpost in Chirang district early morning on Wednesday.
Identified as Sukron Basumatary he was held during a combing search operation by Police and Army at Dwimuguri village.
During the search of suspected area in the outskirts of the village, one cadre attempting to flee namely Sukron Basumatary alias B Saorailang(26) along with an over ground worker(OGW) identified as Badam Goyari were apprehended by the search column in the early hours.
A country made pistol with live rounds and large amount of rations & logistics support stores were recovered from the cadre.

The 7th edition of the northeast Butterfly meet was concluded at Raimona National Park in Kokrajhar district on Wednesday. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) Executive Member for Forest & Environment Ranjit Basumatary inaugurated the event at Kachugaon.

Professor Indira Boro, head of the department of Bodo for Bodoland University, has been named for an award from the Sahitya Akademy for translation in Bodo language.
