BJP-led govt facing flak in Namrup

Congress leaders and workers in Namrup on Sunday accused the BJP led Sonowal Government of doing precious little to uplift  BVFCL . 

In her address, party leader and former Naharkatiya MLA Pranati Phukan said the BJP led government at the Centre and state were least interested to develop BVFCL. She said that the government has stopped the schemes meant for the poor people. 

She further strongly condemned prime minister Narendra Modi for comparing women to a gas cylinder suggesting that he had no respect for women. 

Nitul Nahardeka  President of  Namrup Yuba Congress,  Umesh Gogoi, President of Jeypore Block Congress, former minister Atuwa Munda were prominent among those who addressedthe meeting. 

Addressing the meeting, Munda said , "the Country is moving in a wrong direction where the age of British India are back. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is Adolf Hitler who destroyed the Indian culture.” 

He slammed the government alleging that  the education system was suffering  in the name of Din Dayal Upadhya where prominent personalities have been left in the lurch.   Moniram Dewan , Kanaklata Boruah , Dr. Bhupen  Hazarika et al have no influence for these people in power. 

Atul Borgohain, District Ex President , Binud Borgohain  ,  Nitu Nagbonkhi and Sushil Dihingia District Observer , Golok Nahardeka District Vice president , District Member Rajkumar Nilnatra Neog , Tutumoni Lahon also were present in thr meeting where more than five thousand people gathered.

NAMRUP: A team of BVFCL workers from Namrup is staging dharna in New Delhi on Tuesday alleging raw deal for the state owned fertilizer company in the recent Union Budget. Talking to www.assamtimes.org, the workers organization leaders said the initiatives to uplift the industry in the budget itself suggests utter lack of government. “We have no option but to stage dharna at the Jantar Mantar no Tuesday. We think this would be the best possible way to mount pressure on the Centre,” said Tileswar Bora, who left for the capital three days back.      
The body of a 60 year old at a stone’s throw distance from Namrup police station struck no less shock in the entire area on Sunday. Identified as Badal Konwar the body was spotted at a drain at 11.00 in the morning. According to his son Ujjal, his father was unwell for the last couple of days. The body was sent for post mortem.
