BJP-led govt facing flak in Namrup

Congress leaders and workers in Namrup on Sunday accused the BJP led Sonowal Government of doing precious little to uplift  BVFCL . 

In her address, party leader and former Naharkatiya MLA Pranati Phukan said the BJP led government at the Centre and state were least interested to develop BVFCL. She said that the government has stopped the schemes meant for the poor people. 

She further strongly condemned prime minister Narendra Modi for comparing women to a gas cylinder suggesting that he had no respect for women. 

Nitul Nahardeka  President of  Namrup Yuba Congress,  Umesh Gogoi, President of Jeypore Block Congress, former minister Atuwa Munda were prominent among those who addressedthe meeting. 

Addressing the meeting, Munda said , "the Country is moving in a wrong direction where the age of British India are back. Prime Minister Narendra Modi is Adolf Hitler who destroyed the Indian culture.” 

He slammed the government alleging that  the education system was suffering  in the name of Din Dayal Upadhya where prominent personalities have been left in the lurch.   Moniram Dewan , Kanaklata Boruah , Dr. Bhupen  Hazarika et al have no influence for these people in power. 

Atul Borgohain, District Ex President , Binud Borgohain  ,  Nitu Nagbonkhi and Sushil Dihingia District Observer , Golok Nahardeka District Vice president , District Member Rajkumar Nilnatra Neog , Tutumoni Lahon also were present in thr meeting where more than five thousand people gathered.

NAMRUP: The Sonari Army under DAO Division organised a free medical check-up and assistance camp in Manjushree Tea Garden under Charaideo district on Friday, wherein necessary medical advice and assistance was provided along with free medicines to the locals numbering nearly 600 from various adjoining villages.   NAMRUP: Along with other parts of world, the 4th International Yoga Day was also celebrated at Namrup. The programme was formally inaugurated by BVFCL Chief Managing Director (CMD), Shyam Deo Singh by ceremonial lighting of lamp in BVFCL Gandhi Maidan Indoor Stadium. Namrup:  The Dibrugarh District administration would take the medical responsibility of Bipul Bhagwati, a senior journalist suffering from a critical illness. Hearing about the health condition of the ailing journalist, the Deputy Commissioner, Dibrugarh assured the Assam Press Cooresspondent Union local unit today that the administration would extend all medical assistance to Bhagawati.  
Namrup: The Maibella Army Camp under DAO Division organized a free medical check up and assistance camp as part of the Army’s “Winning of Heart and Mind Campaign Drive” in Rohdoi  Ali village of Charaideo  district recently. The camp was attended by some 400 people from 10 neighbouring villages. Free medicines were also distributed among the patients.   
Namrup:  A pioneer of the Assam Movement and founder of Assam Yuba Chatra  Parishad Namrup Regional Committee, Nagen Bora breathed his last at his own residence here in Namrup on Sunday due to old age ailments. He was 82 and left behind his wife, two son and three daughters.  Actively associated with a number of socio-political organizations of Namrup, Bora was sent to prison on a number of occasions during the Assam agitation.
