Condolence meeting for Muzammil Ali Chowdhury

A meeting was organised by Greater Dabaka Citizens' Forum at Dabaka Higher Secondary School,Dabaka today to condole the death of Late Muzammil Ali Chowdhury, Former MLA Jamunamukh Constituency.

Abdul Jalil Patowari, Principal B R Ambedkar High School, explained the purpose of the meeting. Muhammad Ubaidullah, A Class VII Student of Kardoba Anglo- Arabic School,Dabaka read a brief life history of Late Muzammil Ali Chowdhury.

Muzammil Ali Chowdhury died at his Gastola, Dabaka house  on September 30. Chowdhury, was the MLA of Jamunamukh Constituency from 1978-1983, he was parliamentary secretary with the charge of State Ministry of agriculture, also became chairman of Assam Seed Corporation under Golap Borbora Janta Ministry. He was associated with many organisations, had authored six small books.

"He had a dyanmic personality, a religious person, a social activist, a teacher, a leader,a politician,a poet", Members of Greater Dabaka Citizens' Forum,said.

Everyone present in the condolence meeting prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul.

A Class 5  minor from Borzar Primary School in Jamunamukh under Hojai District  was allegedly sexually molested by headmaster of the school  Maheshwar Medhi, where she was studying. Hojai: A  free general health check-up camp was organised at Don Bosco High School in Hojai on Friday to Commemorate the World Health Day, Which is Observed on April 7 worldwide. Hojai: In yet another major achievement, the Hojai police have rescued a woman and her child  from the clutches of traffickers from a red light area in Siluguri. Hojai: The Hojai police in Doboka have seized a huge quantity of illicit foreign liquor during a raid at a few hotels on Wednesday. Led by DSP Binita Nath, a team of police raided the hotels on the roadside of National Highway No 36 at night in Jabrakhuwa and seized the foreign liquors illegally stored by the traders. More raids are expected during the next couple of days since the authority wants the illicit foreign trade to be dealt with firmly. 
HOJAI: Amid simmering shock and anger over sexual crimes across the nation two miscreants allegedly gangraped a girl in Hojai before being dumped on the National Highway No 54 on Wednesday. Local residents spotted the girl in dire straights in the morning who called up police and rushed her to the Nilbagan Model Hospital. According to information, two youths took away the girl from Samoguri in Nagaon district on Tuesday and gangraped at night and dumped her by the roadside. On receipt of the formal complaint, the Hojai police is looking for the duo who gangraped the girl.
Hojai: Once again the power department has shown its utter inefficiency in Hojai where one person was electrocuted to death when workers were on repairing duty on Tuesday. Identified as Mohan Lal Das, the 45 year old electrocuted when he was caught by the 440 voltage power line of 440 at Raikata Village in Hojai in the afternoon as the workers were on repairing duty.
