Rail services disrupts due to blockade

Rail services are disrupted since 5am morning along the northeast frontier railway due to rail blockade for 12 hours seeking early solution of Bodoland issue and provide political rights to the Bodos who are out of proposed Bodoland.

Several long distance express train and passenger trains are stranded at different stations dua to 12 hours Railway trak blockade at Kokrajhar and Sonitpur today by ABSU, PJACBM, NDFBP in support of demanding separate Bodoland statehood, provide political right and protection to the Bodos who are residing out of proposed Bodoland.

In Kokrajhar station, nearly lakh peoples from different districts of lower Assam gathered with banner, placards and shouted slogans seeking early solve of Bodoland issue through political dialogue. The agitators seated on the rail track since 5 am and to be continued till 5 pm.

Several express, passenger trains have been reportedly stranded at various stations due to the blockade.

The movement groups have been staged the blockade to put pressure government over solving the long standing demand of Bodoland statehood through political dialogue under Article 2 & 3 of Indian constitution. The movement will be continued till resolved of Bodoland issue,said the movement groups.

 Several trains stranded at various station due to blockade for Bodoland statehood, which ari included 15667 up gandhdham express at New Coochbehar, 12423 DN Rajdhani at Guwahati,12510 DN Bengalore express at Kamakhya , 15909 DN Avadh Assam at Bijni,25658 DN Kanchanjanga at New Bongaigaon,12435 DN Rajdhani express at Rangia.

Cancelled trains so far,included 15771 UP Kamakhya intercity , 15769 UP Lamding intercity,UP Demo train.

A marathon competition was orgaised to create awareness on anti-social activities like crimes against women along with Durga Puja celebration at Salakati in Kokrajhar district on Saturday. Hundreds of participants from different places from greater Salakati area participated the marathon race which started from Station Road, Salakati and concluded at the same point completing of 8 kms distance. KOKRAJHAR: A road safety awareness proramme was held in Kokrajhar district on Thursday by district transport office (DTO), Kokrajhar to create awareness on accident and traffic control in the district. Students from the different colleges participated at the programme. As per official records of the DTO Kokrajhar, there were 148 cases of accidents reported and 69 persons dead in Kokrajhar district in 2018 itself. DTO Kokrajhar Dhajen Basumatary said that the progremme was organised out to create awareness and alertness among the young generation.
KOKRAJHAR: Kokrajhar police apprehended two heroin smugglers from Kokrajhar town late Tuesday evening in a search operation. Kokrajhar police conducted a search operation at one house along the Ganga Hall Road and seized 58.9 grams of heroin. Two persons were apprehended. They were identified as Rinok Narzary (25) of Muthambil Soraibil of Gossaigaon and Mondip Narzary (24 year) of Habrubari under Kokrajhar police station.

KOKRAJHAR: Security forces apprehended six hardcore cadres including deputy finance secretary of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra faction (NDFB-S) from Ripu Reserve forest, Kokrajhar district early Monday morning. KOKRAJHAR: A tuition master has been arrested for allegedly molestating of minor girl in Kokrajhar town on Sunday evening. According to family, a 9-year-old girl went for tuition class at the nearby house under the Ward no.2 along with her classmates in the morning around at 8 am. KOKRAJHAR: A young boy was trampled to death and  a woman left seriously injuried by wild elephant within 24-hour at Bijni in Chirang district on Friday. According to local peoples, a 12-year-old young boy child was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants at Bishnupur along the India-Bhutan border area under Bijni police station in Chirang district on Friday morning. Five persons were arrested by te police for illegally carrying cattles in five trucks on Thursday morning at Karigaon national highways in Kokrajhar district. Police intercepted the trucks carrying 80 cattles, including 14 buffaloes during the petrolling in the 31C National Highways. The trucks were bound for Nine Mile, Guwahati from Pandipara and Sonapur of West Bengal. The cattles were purchased by Pioneer Livestocks. During the checking, Pioneer Livestocks and truck drivers failed to show proper documents.Police later seized the trucks and the cattles.
