Kokrajhar priest killer held in Dhubri
The Kokrajhar police probing the sensational priest killing case claimed to have arrested the main culprit on Thursday.
Identified asMojinur Islam, he was caught from Surjyakata under Bilashipara poluce station in Dhubri district. His name surfaced during the interrogation of three other accused involved with murder case.
The priest was killed on September 10 by 2 am at Soni temple near Kokrajhar railway station before looting away ₹ 2.5 lakh in cash from Debnath’s possession. The three accused were identified as Balay Halder, Biswajit Barman and Papai Barman.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
