Focus on Adivasi contribution

The history  of the Adivasis came up for a livelier discussion at the Tangla College as it celebrated the freshers’ social on Wednesday.


In his address, writer Sanjay Tanti said,” these people now in Assam  have not migrated on their own choice rather they have been displaced and dispossessed of the resources of their homeland by British for working in tea plantations of state.Students should know the history of Adivasis.”



Organized by the All Adivasi Students Association of Assam, the programme had highlighted the contribution of the Adivasi people where Tanti said,”Political and geographical boundaries have distorted the identity of people.”

Speaking on the ocassion Udalguri district AASU General Secretary Saiful Haque also exhorted the students to empower themselves with the tool of education so as to raise their voice on their social,political rights
