Nagaland Chief Minister, T R Zeliang gas sought an immediate step to improve air connectivity in the north Easter state. Zelisng raised the issue as he held a meeting with Rajiv Bansal, Chairman & Managing Director of AirIndia; Rajat Kumar, Vice President of Indigo Airlines and Sanjay Kumar, Chief Commercial Officer of Indigo Airlines in New Delhi on Wednesday.
He requested both the Airlines to consider adding more flights and to ensure that the flights are operated without any disruption. CMD AirIndia, Rajiv Bansal assured that Dimpaur – Kolkata flights would be operated without any disruption while adding that he would look into the feasibility of operating another flight to Delhi via Guwahati.
Zeliang pointed out before Indigo officials that, while Delhi– Dimapur morning flight was a direct flight with a stopover at Kolkata, similar flight schedule on the return route had been discontinued which was causing immense hardship to passengers. Passengers are made to change flights at Kolkata which causes inconvenience and wastage of time, he cited.
Indigo officials while appreciating the Chief Minister for the continued support to Indigo air operations assured that direct return flight would be resumed by end of this month, September.
Both CMD AirIndia and officials of Indigo assured that they would do everything possible to improve the services for Nagaland.
He also visited the newly constructed Nagaland House Building at RK Puram, New Delhi and interacted with the officials of the Construction Firm, Confoss Constructions. The construction is complete except for interior furnishings and inauguration of the new building is to be held very soon.
