School teacher duped

Beware. Frauds are moving around you. The latest victim is a school teacher who had to hand over his ATM details acting on a wrong information by a fraudster. 

It took place in Dimakuchi where Sita Ram Das, a resident of Nonai Khas village in Udalguri received a call asking for details of his SBI account citing the enforcement of GST. 

Later, he found that ₹50,000 has been withdrawn from his account.

ATM frauds are a growing menace these days. The latest trick seems to be fraudsters citing GST as the reason why they need the bank details as has been in a case where a school teacher was duped by a fraudstar in sharing his S.B.I bank account details and later he found that an amount nearly of Rs. 50,000 has been debited. 

 

When asked his home branch officials denied asking for any details of his account much to a major disappointment of the venture school teacher.

The silver jubilee session of Udalguri district ‘Bathou Mahasabha’ is going to be held at Harisinga from February 6 to 9, 2016. Bandh hits life at Tangla

The 12 hour Assam bandh called by Hiteswar Barman led AKRSU in demand of ST status to six communities of state namely the Koch Rajbongsi, Adivasi, Motok, Moran, Chutia and Tai Ahoms had paralysed life in the buisiness and educational town of Udalguri district Tangla. All shops and business establishments, educational and financial institutes remained closed during the bandh period. However few schools and Junior colleges with low attendence of students functioned till 12.Except some private vehicles no other vehicles were seen plying on the roads in the town. No untoward incident occurred in the town during the bandh period.

Hindi speakers committee at Tangla

Akhil Hindi Bhasi Vikash Parishad, that works towards the interest of the Hindi speaking communities of four districts of BTC, had its general meeting on November 15 at Tangla where it had formed its regional committee. Chaath Puja at Tangla

Children's day in Tangla

Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way. The students under the guidance of Principal of the academy Napolean Daimari distributed food packets among the patients of Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha Hospital, Tangla.
