BTC Assembly begins summer session

The  BTC Legislative Assembly has begun its summer session from Tuesday at Bodoland Assembly House in Kokrajhar. The session was chaired by Tridiv Daimary, speaker of the BTC Legislative Assembly.

Summoned by thr Governor, the session begun with question hour on erosion and protection of water resources along Sangkoch River. Jiron Basumatary,MCLA put the question cited that the recent flash along the Sangkoch River eroded the two villages namely-Shimlabari and Surendrapur with damaged paddy crops.On his reply, Maheswar Basumatary, BTC executive member for Water Resources department  told that the house that necessary protection and measures have been initiated to repaired the erosion site through BTC SOPD fund.

Necessary estimate and schemes have been submitted to the concern higher authority to make protection of erosion and caused by Sangkoch River.

 Several MCLAs of the council, like Rwngwra Narzary,Guneswar Goyary,Maoti Brahma Hazoary, Chakradhar Das,Ganashyam Das, put questions on various developmental aspects in the different departments initiated by BTC administration. The session discussed on the education, health, urban development, Irrigation, Land & Revenue department etc.

 BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary, who is also in-charge of Education department, has introduced ‘The Bodoland Territorial Council Education (Provincialisation of services of teachers and Re-organization of Educational institution) Bill, 2017 in the house.
