BTC drivers discuss demands

The first annual conference of the BTC unit Assam government driver and handymen association was held at Irrigation Guest House in Kokrajhar with long programme on Sunday.

The conference discussed thoroughly on the various issue and grievances of the government driver and handymen, who are working as drivers in the government offices.

Poresh Kalita, president of Assam State Driver Federation graced as guest on the occasion said that the government driver and handymen are facing hardships in their servicing job.

TA/DA on working duty, allot 10 lakh as compensation for accidental death instead of existing two-lakh, provide proper medical facilities to the government driver and handymen.

 A new committee of the association was formed Kalicharan Brahma as president and Chandan Swargiyary as secretary along with 15 members.

KOKRAJHAR: A three-day Platinum Jubilee celebration of the No.753 DN Himmatsingkha Lower Primary School, Kokrajhar has entered into second day on Saturday at its school premises. KOKRAJHAR: Citizens in Lower Assam districts including  Bodoland Territorial Council  have expressed happiness and gladness having found resumed of internet services today after eight days blockade. The internet service was found resumed at 9 am that saw smilling and happiness environment amongst the citizens in the region. KOKRAJHAR: Police arrested five protesters in Kokrajhar on Wednesday who burnt effigies of chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal and Health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma in protest against the Citizenship (Amendment) Act 2019. Activists and members from All Assam Nath Yogi Students Union carried out a protest demonstration along the JD Road near District Computer centre in Kokrajhar against the CAB bill and burnt effigies of Sonowal and Sarma. KOKRAJHAR: Normal life was paralised  in four districts of Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) region on Tuesday due to 11-hour north east bandh called to put protest against the controversial Citizenship (Amendment) Bill which was tabled in Lok Sabha on Monday amidst strong oppossed from different corner. KOKRAJHAR: The ruling partner in the state alliance government, the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) has said that the their party is going to participate in the ensuing 2020 BTC general elections. Speaking the reporters at Kokrajhar Press Club on Sunday, AGP leader Subir Chakraborty told that his party was fully prepared to contest the council elections due in March-April 2020 under the alliance spirits of BJP-BPF-AGP in the state. He said that seat sharing discussion will be finalised in due time and party is getting several seats.
