BTC drivers discuss demands
The first annual conference of the BTC unit Assam government driver and handymen association was held at Irrigation Guest House in Kokrajhar with long programme on Sunday.
The conference discussed thoroughly on the various issue and grievances of the government driver and handymen, who are working as drivers in the government offices.
Poresh Kalita, president of Assam State Driver Federation graced as guest on the occasion said that the government driver and handymen are facing hardships in their servicing job.
TA/DA on working duty, allot 10 lakh as compensation for accidental death instead of existing two-lakh, provide proper medical facilities to the government driver and handymen.
A new committee of the association was formed Kalicharan Brahma as president and Chandan Swargiyary as secretary along with 15 members.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
