Assam agitation leader passes away

Former AASU activist and a torchbearer of Assam Movement Girish Chandra Bhattacharjya died of cardiac arrest on Thursday. Hw was  59. The end came at his residence at Borjolah village of Tangla in the evening. 

His sudden demise has casted a pall of gloom in the entire area of Tsngla where he was Tangla unit President and Vice-President in the period of 1982-1985 and 1985-86 respectively. 

 

He also served as Organizing secretary of central committee AASU 1987-89. He was instrumental in strengthning the roots of the student body during his tenure.
