Ultimatum on Lafikul killing probe

Many parties, organizations and individuals have been demanding speedy probe into the killing of Lafikul Islam Ahmed to put the culprits behind the bars.

Student unions in Kokrajhar have threatened to intensify agitation against government if justice is not delivered delayed by August 15.

The resolution was cleared at a joint meeting of the student's unions representing different communities and social organisations was held at Agricultural Guest House in Kokrajhar on Thursday.

All Bodo Students Union(ABSU),AKRSU(Hiteswar faction),AKRSU(P),AAMSU,Santhali Students Union,All Assam Gorkha Students Union(AAGSU),Goria Moria Deshi Jatiya Parishad,Adivasi National Convention,Krishak Mukti Sangram Samiti leaders attended the joint meeting.

The unions will send a joint delegation to meet Chief Minister and Governor seeking justice to Lafikul and his family member. The meeting has also set an ultimatum to the government to declare the status of the investigation by August 15.
