The Assam Government, NEEPCO and Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuba Chatra Parishad is set to hold a tripartite talks on Monday to break the impasse over the Lower Subansiri hydel project and Ranganadi project.
The Assam Government assured AJYCP of the path breaking tripartite talks forcing the influential pressure group to break the fast in Lakhimpur on Saturday. Talking to Assam Talks, AJYCP protestors said ,”we have broke the fast after we received a letter from chief secretary VK Pipersenia who assured us of a tripartite talks with NEEPCO to solve the impasse. Now let’s see what comes out on Monday.”
Lakhimpur deputy commissioner Barun Bhuyan handed over the letter to the Parishad on behalf of the Chief Secretary in the afternoon. AJYCP president Saurav Das and secretary Niren Baruah who were on fast broke it after principal of Lakhimpur College, Biman Chutia offered the duo with juice and sweets.
