Bodoland Kickboxing championship gets underway

A total 150 participants from eight districts of the state,included four BTAD districts participated in the 5th Bodoland Kickboxing championship-2017 being held at KDSA stadium in Kokrajhar district with two-day programme scheduled.

The championship was organized by BTC Kickboxing Association in association with Kokrajhar district unit of Kickboxing Association. Participants from eight districts, which included Kokrajhar, Chirang,Baksa,Udalguri,Tinsukia,Sonitpur, Barpeta have presented beautiful fighting in their various weight category competitions,like light contact,full contact and semi contact in the championship. The participants, who would be secured winner in the championship, they will be picked up for national championship to be held by winter in national level.

BTC executive member Doneswar Goyary, Rajen Singh,Kokrajhar SP are attending as guests on the prize distribution ceremony on Saturday.

A seminar was also organized on the occasion to discuss about development and its sporting arena in the region. Nripendra Chandra Roy, president of the BTC Kickboxing Association told that the association has been organizing championship in the region to create healthy sporting arena. He said the association has been giving best sporting space for the talented and budding sports persons in the region as many youths are participating with great enthusiasm in the sports events.

‘There are huge best fighters in the region, who have earned many gold medals in national level championship in recent years under the banner of the BTC Kickboxing Association’, Roy said.
