Hajj pilgrims felicitated

 A total 100 Hajj pilgrims from BTAD four ditsricts are leaving for Holy Mecca on July 24. In this connection, a farewell programme was organized to felicitate to the Hajj pilgrimage being held at Bodofa Cultural complex in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.

 BTC chief Hagrama Mohilary attended the function as chief guest on the occasion and presented farewell message to the Hajj pilgrims for Holy Mecca.

  The programme was organized by BPF central committee in association with Minority Cell of the party. Each of Hajj pilgrims was felicitated with pilgrimage gift items and cash Rs.10, 000 was given way as financial aid from BPF party. This time 100 pilgrims are leaving for the Holy Mecca with necessary arrangements from BTAD region.     On the occasion, a special Namaj(prayer) was offered ahead Hajj Pilgrimage. Mohilary, who is also BPF president, in his greetings to the Hajj pilgrims, wished a happy Hajj jatri to the Holy Mecca, which is a religious place in the world. He said that BTC administration was working for all round development and welfare of all sections of communities in the region. He said that his party wants healthy integration and unity through which human society could get more development. He has been extending best wishes to the Hajj pilgrimage said the jatris are coming out successfully in the religious tour at the Holy Mecca. He has also promised to construct BTAD Haji Mushapirkhana in Guwahati, near Borzar airport to facilitate Hajj pilgrimage from the region.

‘The human society must see unity among diversity as many communities are living in the BTC region’, Mohilary said.

The Islam devotees, who are going for Hajj pilgrims expresses their happiness after getting warm felicitation ahead leaving for Mecca.

 ‘We will offer our offers to the almighty Allah for peace and unity among all sections of communities in the region’, the Hajj jatris said.

 On the question about flood and erosion in BTAD region, Mohilary said that BTAD administration has been engaged SDC/SDO, mondols for assessing the recent flood affected and erosion situations in the districts. The flood was affected less, but the erosion has been becoming a serious concern in the region. He said that the flood affected and erosion reports are submitted to the state government through concern SDO office to make protection and compensation for the citizens.

KOKRAHAR: A sense of alarm has gripped the Jharbari area after a timber smuggler was discovered dead in a firing incident during the early hours of the morning in Kokrajhar. Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district.
