Pre-AWWA Day celebrated in Udalguri

The Army Wives Welfare Association (AWWA) has been taking care of the families of those brave jawans who had laid their lives for the cause of protecting our motherland.Remembering the supreme sacrifices made by the soldiers,troops of 14 Dogra Regiment (Red Horns Division) under Gajraj Corps have been making a sincere endeavor to reach out to families of martyr soldiers and extend helping hand each year.Army Wives Welfare Association Day is celebrated on August 23 each year.As a cursor to this,a pre- AWWA Day Meet was organized at Army camp Golondi near Udalguri on July 2 yesterday for the Veer Naris and Widows of Udalguri and Darrang districts to spread the awareness about various schemes and facilities available for them in the army.The meet was attended by one Veer Nari and 29 widows.The attendees were educated about important guide lines issued from time to time by the Army HQ on aspects of Ex-service men Contributory Health Scheme (ECHS),CSD facilities,medical benefits and various other schemes related to wards/widows of ex-servicemen.In addition, various facilities like CSD,medical checkup and noting down their grievances were provided to them during the day.
