Rabha Divas observed in Kokrajhar

Rabha community along with various organization paid floral homage to Kalaguru Bishnu Prasad Rabha, versatile of the human beings in the state of Assam on his 48th death anniversary in Kokrajhar district on Tuesday

Kokrajhar district administration observed the Rabha Divas at Basic Training Centre in Kokrajhar in befitting manner. 
 The All Rabha Students Union (ARSU)  organized the Rabha Divos at Magurmari in Kokrajhar district. Citizens and Rabha organizations followed Amarsingh Koch, president of Rabha sahitya sabha, Rwtin Lokobok, ARSU leader paid tribute to portrait of Bishnu Prasad Rabha. 

Rajib Brahma, BTC executive member graced as special guest on the occasion.Brahma, in his speech said that Rabha's

contribution towards was endless for the society in the state. 'We must keep alive ideology and philosophy of Kalaguru Rabha to build a healthy society', said Brahma. 

'Bishnu Prasad Rabha had contributed a lot towards uplift of Rabha community as well down trodden communities in the state', said Amarsingh Koch . 

Dr Jibeswar Koch, professor of Dudhnoi College said that Kalaguru had worked for all round development and welfare of backward communities. ' His contribution and dedication are recalled on his Divos as state is observing the day', Koch said. 

Rwtin Lokobok, ARSU leader said that the students union recalled Kalaguru with day long programme scheduled.

Bibekananda Choudhury, Kokrajhar deputy commissioner lighted the lamp to inaugurate the Rabha Divos. He said that Kalaguru was a man of versatile in his life as he had dedicated towards a lot for human beings as a whole.

A 12-years-old youth identified as Som Soren of Santipur Ultapani was died on the spot and another received serious injured following trampled by wild elephant late last night at Ultapani along the Indo-Bhutan border area in Kokrajhar district.  According to villagers, a herd of 4 wild elephants reached the No.2 Santipur village late last night and attacked the villagers where the youth was died on the spot and another received serious injured.
