Absu to move NHRC on fake encounter

Various parties and organisations from Bodoland region, including All Bodo Students Union(ABSU), National Democrtaic Front of Boroland-Progressive (NDFB-P), BPF, UPPL condemned and demanded early punishment of those involveed in the fake encounter that killed two-cadres of NDFB-S at Simlaguri in Chirang district on March 30 last. This was was revealed by a CRPF top official Rajnish Rai. The ABSU said that the students union has decided to move to the National Human Rights Commission.

Promod Boro, president of the ABSU told the media on Saturday that the students union will move to the human rights commission against the killing of two-cadres of NDFB-S. 

Kampa Borgoyary, BTC deputy chief, former Rajya Sabha MP and UPPL president Urkhao Gwra Brahma, Dhiren Boro, NDFB-P president also demanded strong action against fake encounter at Simlaguri. They said that those involved in the incident should be booked as soon as possible.

KOKRAJHAR: An eight-member delegation of  a special review committee on detention center, led by chairman Debojit Mukherjee visited the detention center in Kokrajhar on Tuesday. The delegation members include Debojit Mukherjee, deputy inspector of police (Border) and chairman of the committee, district judge (retired) H Singh, IGP of Prisons Barnali Sharma, D Saikia, AIG of Prisons and several senior police officials. KOKRAJHAR: Indonesian paragliders have won first prizes in the first-ever Bodoland international Paragliding accuracy championship-2019. The event concluded on Thursday after four day programme at Dangdupur Hill in Kokrajhar district. 68 participants from 11 countries participated in the championship and displayed their paragliding skills. 22 foreign paragliders participanted in the event.
