Miscreants held with arms in Udalguri
On the basis of secret information a police team led by surjakanto Morang DSP (P) arrested two extortionist yesterday evening on June 10 from Shillongkhuti under Mazbat police station.The apprehended persons are- Birsila Basumatary,son of Roshen Basumatary of village No 2 Merabil in Udalguri and Gumdam Basumatary, son of late Anand Basumatary of village Solomari under Mazbat police station.Rajveer Singh,SP,Udalguri told this correspondent that they had given extortion call to the headmaster of Shillongkhuti HS and demanded an amount of rupees fifty thousands from the HM.There were more victims about whom details were being verified.
A case has been registered at Mazbat police station.The SP also said that police had recovered a hand made pistol and two rounds of ammunition from a tempo Reg.No 27 C 2636 at Kathalguri under Udalguri police station.
