Nagaon shines with 9 toppers

Ramanujan Junior College,a premiere institution of Nagaon has once again proved their Supremacy by securing top ranks in HS examination 2017. Total 7 students of the college has done excellent results snatching Six top ranks in the merit lists in Science and Arts streams of HSSLC examinations conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC), the results of which were declared on Tuesday.

Rajababu Saikia of Ramanujan junior College topped the science streamscoring 482 marks in five subjects while Suman chetry stood fourth scoring 479 marks and Angshuman bhargav bagged the fifth position scoring 478 marks. Similarly, Muzamil ahmed and Bashab Ranjan dahal of the same College stood ninth and Tenth respectively in the Science stream.Muzamil scored 473 while Bashab was just one marks short than Muzamil with 472 marks. Samudrajit Baruah of the College notched Tenth position in Science stream scoring 472.

On the other hand, in Arts stream, Namrata Baruah of Ramanujan junior College stood fourth scoring 471 marks with five letters.

Doboka Police seized 99 thousand fakenotes along with a pistol and four bullets from the possession of one Fatir ahmed, son of Ayub Al Ali of Changmaji village of Doboka in Hojai District on Saturday night. A boy named Siddique ali is receiving treatment at Nagaon BP civil hospital for a snake bite after he was bitten on the roadside of Gorajan, Rupahihat in Nagaon district on Saturday. As per information, Ali in the morning caught a Cobra from a field near Gorajan. He then took it to Rupahihaat Bazar and started playing with it but unfortunately he was bitten by the snake. Goods worth around 2 lakh rupees were gutted in fire after a shop at Randaichuk,Puranigudam of Nagaon district got engulfed in devastating fire on Saturday noon. According to sources,The shop caught fire from the earthen lamp of the shop and which soon spread to whole shop. The demand for dog meat in Nagaland is greater than its supply, so live dogs are illegally trafficked there from Assam. However, a major effort of these traffickers was foiled on Thursday night when locals along with the cops in Samaguri in Nagaon successfully managed to rescue 75 dogs from the clutches of the ruthless dog trade. Four traffickers were also arrested in this process. Some locals of Samaguri managed to catch a truck carrying 75 dogs at Samaguri Bazar area According to sources at around 8.30 in the evening which was going towards Dimapur from Rupohihat, Nagaon.
