SSB conducts Samajik Chetna Abhiyan

The five day long Samajik Chetna Abhiyan organized by 37th BN, SSB Mangaldoi concluded here at Nalapara Chowk near Indo-Bhutan border of Udalguri on Monday. The concluding day witnessed  a massive cultural-cum-educative programme.

During the programme several topics pertaining to social upliftment of border population including organic Farming, backyard Farming, digital transaction,child protection,ill effects of Drug Addiction awareness on 'Beti Bachao Beti Pardhao' were deliberated upon by the experts of respective fields.  The programme which kick started with a mini marathon and awareness rally involving student of several schools creating awareness about “Nasha Mukta Bharat, Beti Bachao Beti Pardhao, Swatch Bharat also saw medical Officers of SSB examining and treating a number of villagers suffering from various ailments along with counseling them and providing medicines free of cost. Veterinary medicines were also distributed among villagers for their livestock and cattle.

On the concluding day of the programme on Monday  PSS Negi, Inspector General, Frontier headquarter, SSB Tezpur was also present as the chief guest for the valedictory function where he distributed prizes and certificates to winners of different competitive events. He also provided other sports utility items to various locals Club. He distributed school bags to the best student of SSB adopted schools.  A K Mallik, DIG, Sector Headquarter SSB Tezpur, Shri Shiv Gopal Shukla, Commandant 37th BN, Shri Dithakanand Hazarika, ADC, Udalguri  and other officer of SSB were present.Addressing the gathering,  PSS Negi, IG, Frontier Tezpur exhorted people to be a responsible citizen and help SSB in its border guarding duties and to maintain peace, harmony and national integrity among different communities.  He appreciated and thanked the local villagers for making the programme success.  He said that SSB is deployed on the Indo-Nepal and Indo-Bhutan border of the State and will keep on organizing such functions in upcoming days.

The silver jubilee session of Udalguri district ‘Bathou Mahasabha’ is going to be held at Harisinga from February 6 to 9, 2016. Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way.
