SSB organizes Samajik Chetna Abhiyan

The 37th Bn, SSB, Mangaldoi organized Samajiki Chetna Abhiyan programme at Nehru Memorial High School of Shuklai Chowk in Rajagarh bordering Indo-Bhutan border area of Udalguri on Friday.The programme which was kick started today will be conducted for five days involving students of Nehru Memorial High School for creating awareness about "Nasha Mukta Bharat".

Tridip Daimari, Speaker, BTC inaugurated the programme in presence of A. K Mallik, DIG, SHQ, SSB Tezpur,  Shiv Gopal Shukla, Commandant,  D.Hazarika ADC Udalguri, Lipika Barman, Child Protection Officer, Udalguri district among others. Addressing the gathering Shri Daimari appreciated efforts of SSB for working towards upliftment of border population besides creating sense of security among them. He also advocated that the villagers should also make cordial relations with SSB and help them in the time of need to secure the border in order to make border area crime free.

The MCA/VCA  medical-veterinary camp was also held on the ocassion which gave free medical prescription and medicines to the needy villagers in which approximately 250 patients were treated.Approximately 217 numbers of livestock were treated by Veterinary doctors and medicines were also offered.During this occasion cultural troupe from border areas, youth clubs and various schools made a colorful presentation of Assamese, Nepalese, Adivasi and Bodo dances. The Jazz band team of SSB entertained the unprecedented large gathering of audience with patriotic, modern, classical and regional songs.

A K Mallik, DIG, SHQ, Tezpur also addressed the gathering and motivated them to enhance the education of the girl child, take benefits from the various govt. schemes for skill development and for employment generation. He also expressed that these programme would be successful in bringing changes and development in the life of border populace.  The five day long campaign wpuld include workshops on themes of Nasha Mukta Bharat, Drug Abuse, Human Trafficking, Save Forest and Swachh Bharat with the co-ordination of various local NGOs. This was stated in a press statement from the office of 37 Bn SSB Mangaldai.

The silver jubilee session of Udalguri district ‘Bathou Mahasabha’ is going to be held at Harisinga from February 6 to 9, 2016. The Harisinga Bathaou Anchalik has taken the initiative to organise this big religious event of the Bodo culture. The venue of the event is fixed at Sonaisri Fwthar, Harisinga. However few schools and Junior colleges with low attendence of students functioned till 12.Except some private vehicles no other vehicles were seen plying on the roads in the town. No untoward incident occurred in the town during the bandh period.

Students of Arunodoi Academy Tangla celebrated Children's day in a special way.
