A daring case of buglery just at stone's throw away distance from Tangla Police Station has raised eyebrows of locals. Reportedly on Sunday night taking advantage of absence of the proprietor Mina Rajbongshi burglars barged into her residemce located at Ward No. 4 Chitrangar area behind the Tangla Police Station and stole valuables.The stolen goods include gold jewelleries, valuable goods and cash. The rented shades in the house were also not spared . The rented shade inhabitated by Bridul Basumatari was also barged into by burglars and valuable goods including a laptop was stolen. At a time when Tangla police has been claiming of keeping round the clock vigil and incidence of theft has made people concern on the security of their life and property.
A two-day traditional folk dance extravaganza, "Lokdarshan," concluded on Sunday at the Sri Govinda Mishra Library premises in Nijdola, Udalguri district. Jointly organized by the Eastern Zone Cultural Center, Kolkata, under the Ministry of Culture, Government of India, in association with the "Bhaoria" cultural group of Kamrup, the event aimed to promote the rich cultural heritage of various ethnic groups.
The inaugural ceremony was graced by Gaon Pradhan of Nijdola village Basundhar Rabha as the chief guest, while folk singer Bulumoni Deka lit the inaugural lamp. Dr. Jayanta Kumar Deka inaugurated the cultural evening.
