New Campus of College of fisheries inaugurated

Union minister of State for Railways, Rajen Gohain on Wednesday Inaugurated a new campus of College of fisheries,Raha. The Campus was bulit at a cost of Rs. 16 Crore. The ceremony was also graced by State Agriculture minister Atul Bora, Vice chancellor of Assam Agriculture University Dr. Kamal Malla Bujarboruah, Deputy Commissioner of Nagaon Shamsher Singh, Dean, College of fisheries Dr. Krishnakanta Tamuly and many other dignitaries.

Sensation prevailed in Itakhulighat village of Dolonghat, near to Jajori, Nagaon on Tuesday evening following the rescue of an injured leopard cat by the villagers. A group of villagers spotted the male leopard lying injured in the backyard of Noor Islam's house, a resident of Itakhulighat Village and immediately admitted it to a nearest Veterinary Sub centre for treatment. The leopard Cat has severe injuries on his neck. The forest personnel from Morigaon has taken over the the animal and providing necessary treatment. The leopard cat was later sent to Morigaon and to sent to Guwahati zoo.
The arrest of a person in connection with a kidnapping case triggers no less protest in Nagaon on Monday forcing the authorities to release him after thousands of people in Eleven Mile area hit the streets demanding unconditional release of the people whom they called innocent. Doboka Police seized 99 thousand fakenotes along with a pistol and four bullets from the possession of one Fatir ahmed, son of Ayub Al Ali of Changmaji village of Doboka in Hojai District on Saturday night. Doboka Police Station nabbed the accused on Madartoli near NH 36 while his accomplice managed to escape. Police currently interrogating the accused.
Rupahihaat Police conducted an operation against illegal liquor sellers of the Rupahihaat Bazar and Bhakatgaon area under Rupahihaat Police station of Nagaon district and seized a total of 150 Indian made foreign liquor bottles, on Saturday night . A boy named Siddique ali is receiving treatment at Nagaon BP civil hospital for a snake bite after he was bitten on the roadside of Gorajan, Rupahihat in Nagaon district on Saturday. As per information, Ali in the morning caught a Cobra from a field near Gorajan. He then took it to Rupahihaat Bazar and started playing with it but unfortunately he was bitten by the snake. He was rushed to Nagaon BP civil hospital by the locals and remained a in Critical condition till the filing of this report.
Goods worth around 2 lakh rupees were gutted in fire after a shop at Randaichuk,Puranigudam of Nagaon district got engulfed in devastating fire on Saturday noon. According to sources,The shop caught fire from the earthen lamp of the shop and which soon spread to whole shop. The fire was doused by the locals along with fire brigade team from Amoni in about half-an hour's time.However,No casualty was reported due to the fire.
