BTAD to compensate strom victims

The ruling Bodoland Peoples’ Front (BPF) party has decided to extend compensation to the storm affected areas in four districts of the BTAD in which natural calamities caused several properties in recent rain and storms in the region.

The party holds its 59th Central Working Committee(CWC) meeting at Bodofa Cultural Complex on Monday in Kokrajhar with Hagrama Mohilary,BPF president in the chair.

 BPF supremo Hagrama Mohilary,who is also BTC chief after the party CWC meeting told the media persons that his party discussed thoroughly on recent storms affected in the districts where citizens have face severe damaged of properties along with rests of the state. He said that BTC administration has been initiating to extend compensation to the affected peoples,who lost their properties in the rain and storms. He said that his partymen were instructed to make survey in all areas that affected the citizens and reports would be submitted by few four-days next.

  He said that his BPF party’s youth wing and Bodoland Students Union(BSU) will be organising recruitment coaching for youths to pave way recruitment in various defense,educational entrance by June next. The party has been stressing to gain human resource development among society to meet youth welfare. The party also resolved to contest in the upcoming Panchayat elections in the state under the banner of alliance partnar. He has claimed that his party has many areas where party has own huge supporters.

 He told that his party discussed on various developmental aspects in the region as BTC administration was working for the all round development.  He said that party’s policy making body(PMB) meeting would be organised on May 16 next in Bengaluru.

 On the observation of death anniversary of Bodofa UN Brahma,Mohilary said that his party observed the 27th death anniversary at Bodofa Cultural complex on Monday and observed one minute silence condolence to the respect of Bodofa. ‘We paid floral tribute to Bodofa on his death anniversary today,who led mass movement seeking Bodoland statehood. We must keep alive ideology and phylosophy of Bodofa’, Mohilary said.

 Assam forest minister and party vice-president Pramila Rani Brahma,Rajya Sabha MP Biswajit Daimary, Rabiram Narzary,MLA were prominent attendees in the CWC meeting.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) team won the trophy defeating Lai Autonomous Council (LADC) of Mizoram 1-0 in the final match of inter sixth schedule premier league -2022 being held at SAI SAG center,Kathalguri Titaguri in Kokrajhar district.
