Teachers stage sit-in-dharna in Kokrajhar

Hundreds of teachers participated in the sit-in-dharna  organised under the banner Assam Rajyik Pratamik Sikshak Sanmiloni and Kokrajhar Mahkuma Pratamik Sikshak Sanmiloni in front of BEEO office at Shyamgaon in Kokrajhar on Tuesday demanding solution of various demand and grievances which included proper and early implementation of 7th pay commission with effect from 1st January of 2016, provide equal payment through equal work, restored old pension scheme instead of new pension schme etc.

 Teachers from different schools joined hands with banner,placards and shouted slogans demanded setting up natonal commission for elementary education to deal with the problems and issues related to the education and teachers across the country.

 A memorandum was submitted to President of India through the BEEO,Kokrajhar seeking early solutions of various demand and grievances of the education nad teachers in the state.The demands are included the new pension scheme should be stoped for teachers and other state employees with  immediate effect and revived old pension scheme to meet healthy welfare of the teachers.The anomalies of the Sixth pay commission should be removed and necessary amendments should be in the recommendation of the 7th pay commission’s recommendations.

 Bikash Subedy,Teachers’ Sanmiloni leader said that the teachers are facing several problems in their serving education in the state due to negligence from government.The teacher and employees are not getting genuine respect while maintatining their services.He has urged government to end the differencial attitude while giving salaries among teachers,the salaries should be equal as teaching community is serving with dedicated manner in their jobs.
