Borengajuli Army and Tangla police jointly nabbed a NDFB cease fire cadre Sorbeswar Goyari (24) S/O Lakhiram Goyari on Thursday morning. The cadre is a resident of Thasobari village. Security forces have recovered a .22 country revolver. He has been booked under 387 IPC R/W sec 25(1) (a) Arms Act 1013 UA(P) act vide Tangla PS 47/17. He is now sent to judicial custody as informed by Tangla OC Dhirendra Kalita.
Udalguri: The second phase of the Lok Sabha elections in Assam saw a significant turnout, with 72.99% of eligible voters casting their ballots across the Darrang-Udalguri Parliamentary Constituency. Voting took place on Friday across 11 Assembly constituencies, including Rangia, Kamalpur, Tamulpur, Goreswar, Bhergaon, Tangla, Udalguri, Mazbat, Sipajhar, Mangaldai, and Dalgaon.
