Blood donation awareness meet held
The All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) organized blood donation awareness meet at Bodofa House in Kokrajhar with Pramod Boro President, ABSU in the chair.
Three doctors were attended for speaking towards awareness, who are included Dr Sunil Mukherjee & Dr Amit Chakroborty, Voluntary Blood Donor’s Association, Jharkhand, and Dr Sunil Kaul, The ANT,Chirang where nearly 150 ABSU volunteers from Chirang and Kokrajhar participated.
A noble initiative taking by ABSU in organizing the training cum awareness regarding the blood donation taking these experts from the Voluntary Blood Donor’s Association of Jharkhand.
The ABSU is planning for the Blood Donation Camp from the Bodoland region in connection with the Bodoland Movement; subsequently ABSU will start the blood donation camp from April 23, 2017 to April 23,2018 next. The beginning will be held from Kokrajhar on 23 April, Chirang 24 April, 25 April Baksa, 26 April Udalguri and 27 April Sonitpur for this year 2017.

KOKRAJHAR: Darangamela MCLA in the Bodoland Territorial Council (BTC) Bijit Gwra Narzary is going to take oath and secrecy of the office as executive member of BTC on Wednesday at a programme at BTC Legislative Assembly auditorium hall in Kokrajhar.

KOKRAJHAR: Security forces apprehended six hardcore cadres including deputy finance secretary of the National Democratic Front of Boroland-Saoraigwra faction (NDFB-S) from Ripu Reserve forest, Kokrajhar district early Monday morning. KOKRAJHAR: A tuition master has been arrested for allegedly molestating of minor girl in Kokrajhar town on Sunday evening.
According to family, a 9-year-old girl went for tuition class at the nearby house under the Ward no.2 along with her classmates in the morning around at 8 am.
The tuition classes ended at 10 am and other students were allowed to go their houses by 10 itself. But the victim girl was kept inside tuition hall till 12 pm. Later, the girl was recovered from the tuition master's house.
Family members alleged that the girl was molested by tuition master.

KOKRAJHAR: A young boy was trampled to death and a woman left seriously injuried by wild elephant within 24-hour at Bijni in Chirang district on Friday.
According to local peoples, a 12-year-old young boy child was trampled to death by a herd of wild elephants at Bishnupur along the India-Bhutan border area under Bijni police station in Chirang district on Friday morning.
A herd of 4 wild elephants from nearby Manas National Park were approaching the village in search of foods where the incident took. The young child died on the spot. The deceased was identified as Shikajhora Rahul Singh (12) of Bishnupur.

Five persons were arrested by te police for illegally carrying cattles in five trucks on Thursday morning at Karigaon national highways in Kokrajhar district.
Police intercepted the trucks carrying 80 cattles, including 14 buffaloes during the petrolling in the 31C National Highways. The trucks were bound for Nine Mile, Guwahati from Pandipara and Sonapur of West Bengal. The cattles were purchased by Pioneer Livestocks.
During the checking, Pioneer Livestocks and truck drivers failed to show proper documents.Police later seized the trucks and the cattles.

KOKRAJHAR: Security forces have recovered large number cache of arms, ammunitions and explosives inside Manas National Park (MNP) under Gavarukundha range near Panbari under Bijni police station in Chirang district on Tuesday morning.
A joint operation was launched on Tuesday evening by Chirang Police in the general area of Gavarukunda inside deep jungles of MNP near Panbari and recovered huge amounts of arms, ammunitions and explosives on a buried condition. Chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal ordered an enquiry into incident after CCTV footage of the incident went viral on social media.

KOKRAJHAR: A new political outfit was floated in Bodoland Territorial Areas District (BTAD) at a convention held at Pathshala in Baksa district on Sunday.
The newly floated political party has been named as Gana Suraksha Party (GSP) headed by Kokrajhar Lok Sabha MP Naba Kumar Sarania.
The party has appointed ten executive members.
In the meeting, BTAD army was also formed to work to the extensive services amongst all sections of the society.
Sarania said that the newly floated political party will work for all round development of the region.
He said that the party is planning to put candidature in all 35 seats in the upcoming BTC elections next year.
