Illegal constructions evicted at Khoirabari
The civil administration of Bhergaon sub-divisioncarried out massive eviction drive in and around Khoirabari town area on March 20 with support of police and para military forces.The illegal structures in the forms of various shops and residences on government roadside khas lands were evicted.The eviction drive was led and supervised by LJ Das,Circle Officer,Khoirabari Revenue Circle.A total of ten numbers of houses were demolished completely while more than fifty numbers of houses were demolished partially.Talking to The Assam Tribune Correspondent,Circle Officer Das said that more such eviction drive would be launched shortly if people don't dismantle their illegal constructions themselves.It needs mentioning that illegal constructions and encroachment on government lands and pavements in Khoirabari town had been causing nuisance to common people for a long time.People of Khoirabari welcomed the eviction drive and urged government immediately to take up beautification programme of this historic town.

11 people have been injured by a leopard in Bascobari village near Kalbari in Udalguri district this noon.According to information,the full grown leopard had been taking refuge in the wood in the village last night. Seeing the leopard at around 11.30 am today,villagers tried to chase it and in the process eleven people were injured.
