Preparations are in full swing to host international book fair cum literary festival, cultural exchange, food festival and trade fair beginning from March 16 with week long colorful programmes to be held at Bagduar Nwgwr, Bijni in Chirang district.
Speaking the reporters at a Press Conference held at Kokrajhar Press Club on Wednesday in Kokrajhar,Umesh Chnadra Brahma,executive secretary of Bodo Writers’s Academy and chairman of Media & Communication of Reception Committee of the event said the international event has been organized in connection with celebration of 33rd foundation day of the Bodo Writers' Academy , an organization of Bodo writers. He said that Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal will grace as chief guest while Hagrama Mohilary, BTC chief will be attending as inaugurator on the open session on the concluding day of the event on March 23.
He said there would be various colorful programmes, which included creative literature, seminar, cultural exchange, book fair, indigenous food items, get together with book publishers would be organized in the event. He said Dr Rupali Swargiary, noted writer of Baksa district has been named for Asha Mushahary Literary Award for her Khwmsi Okrangao Gwrlwi Okhapwr book (short story). She has been named by Jury Board at an executive meeting of Bodo Writers' Academy with Rajen Basumatary in the chair held at Tengfakhri Bhawan in Bijni.The award comprises of cash 10,000, citation and a momento which would be conferred during the international event.
