Bibekananda Choudhury,Kokrajhar Deputy Comissioner inaugurated Farmers’ Club,a united organisation of promising farmers and base level orientation & training programme(BLOTP) at Balajan Karigaon on Friday in Kokrajhar dsitrict.
As many as 9 farmers’ club from covering twenty villages of greater Karigaon area in Kokrajhar district were involved to produce crops in organic tradition in the region through the support of National Agricultural Bank for Rural Devemlopment(NABARD).
The farmers’ club has been being organised by Orai Swmkhwr,an NGO working for organic farming in Kokrajhar.Choudhury distributed sanction letters from NABARD among farmers’ club on the occasion that saw encouragement for farming among farmers. Choudhury inaugurating the club said that it is a noble venture initiated by Orai Swmkhwr to highlight organic crops in the district.Organic crops have good response among citizens in present day life.
Bhamadevi Deury,district devemlopment manager,NABARD, Kokrajhar told that the farmers’ club is an association of promising farmers in the district.The NABARD is supporting farmers while producing organic crops.
Pankaj Hazarika,general manager,DICC,Kokrajhar,Gopinath Basumatary,lead district manager,Uco bank,Kokrajhar,Gautam Bhagawati,subject matter specialist(plant protection),KVK,Gossaigaon,Amarjeet Basumatary,president Orai Swmkhwr,NGO were prominent attendees on the occasion.
