A week-long Maha Rudra Biswa Shanti Yagya being held at Mahesh Mandir at Subashpalli in Kokrajhar,heart of BTAD administration.
Devotee and worships from different parts of the district and its adjoining areas are participating the yagya,was organised by Mahesh Mandir Committee in Kokrajhar to Biswa Shanti among all sections of society in the region. A total 12 Puruhit and pundits from Benaras and Kolkata performed Shiva probachan(Katha) and gita Bhagabat chandi path on the occasion.Bathou religious prayer(Aroj methai) has also been performed everyday on the occasion.The yagya was started from February 18 and would be concluding on February 24 with closing function. Bed Prakash,puruhit from Benaras told that the Biswa Shanti has been organised to bring peacefull atmosphere among all sections of the communities in the region. ‘We are performing prayer sessions to almighty god Shiva for bringing pecae and unity among society for a week’,Prakash said.
Neeta Basumatary, Biswa Shanti Yagya organiser said that the Biswa shanti yagya has been aimed to bring peace and harmony among different communities in the region with praying.She said that puruhits are performing their prayers to the welfare of society.
KOKRAJHAR, DEC 23: In a significant anti-poaching operation, a joint team of police and forest officials apprehended three poachers from 1 No. Donga village near the India-Bhutan border in Tamulpur district on Sunday. The team also seized two handmade rifles and an elephant tusk during the raids.
Acting on a tip-off, the team first raided the residence of Chingarai Hasda (60) in 1 No. Donga village, where they recovered a handmade rifle. Upon interrogation, Chingarai disclosed that an elephant tusk was concealed in the house of Sanu Hembrom (60), another resident of the same village.
Following this lead, the team raided Sanu Hembrom’s house and successfully recovered the tusk. Further...
