In a major embarrassment for Congress in Assam, police have grilled former Assam welfare minister Akon Bora on Friday in connection with a multi crore scam.
A team of anti corruption cell questioned Bora for a couple of hours at the Rupnagar based office in Guwahati from 11 in the morning.
He was interrogated in connection with the huge Rs 200 crore scam in the department when he was holding the social welfare portfolio.
Top police officials are tightlipped on the revelations and refused to divulge anything before the media people who were waiting outside the office for several hours.
Sources told Assam Times that Bora would have to be grilled again soon to extract more crucial revelations.
No Congress leaders were available for comment.
