Bihu festivity gathers momentum

Raja, the name of a huge area in central Assam in Nagaon district erupts in the joy of Bhugali Bihu festivity. People of all walks of life are celebrating the Bihu on Saturday. The preparations are varied and saried. Huge make shift structures made of straw and bamboo strike no less attention of the people in the entire area. The villagers of Rajabari are proud of the Bhelaghar in the shape of a state-of-the-art jet fighter while their counterparts in Aahotguri are taking pride of a peacock and a rhino.


The villagers are celebrating the Friday night with bonfire and community feast. Cultural functions are also lined up for the night. The pisciculture college authority told Assam Times  that they would provide fish to the villagers at an affordable cost to help the people of all sections to celebrate the occasion.
