RSS seems to have invited more and more wrath for its highly questionable presence at the Kareng Ghar premises. The Asom Jatiyatabadi Yuva Chatra Parishad (AJYCP) has raised doubts over the intention of the organization where activists recently thronged the historic premises raising Bharat Mata Ki Joi slogan.
In a statement issued to media in Guwahati on Friday, AJYCP president Biraj Kumar Talukdar slammed RSS alleging that the hue and cry at the Kareng Ghar premises has generated no less undercurrent of hatred and disturbance among the people in the area.
Taking a dig at RSS for the Bharat Mata Ki Joi sloganeering Talukdar said, “Since the people of Assam are firstly proud of their identity as Assamese and Bharat Mata Ki Joy is quite irreverent in this context.”
The AJYCP president alleged that the organization was trying to mix history with religious sentiment and that it could foment any trouble anywhere and at anytime.
Talukdar warned RSS to refrain from these activities in future and questioned its silence in the time of flood.
“Adequate rainfalls keep Assam clean on every passing day and hence any cleanliness drive does not make any sense. A questionable cleanliness drive by a bunch of people from RSS seems to have misled the youths of Assam and hence the entire campaign was not more than a circus,” said Talukdar.
“After decades of conspicuous silence and ignorance, why RSS should take care of the monument after so many decades and who allowed them?,” he wondered.
Guwahati: Expressing anxiety over the recent earthquake that hit the Tibetan plateau killing over 125 residents and injuring several others, a forum of graduate engineers in northeast India apprehended probable damages in the Brahmaputra valley if the China-made massive hydropower project on Yarlung Zangbo collapses some day because of a high intensity tremor. All Assam Engineer’s Association (AAEA), in a media statement, also urges the Union government in New Delhi to strongly deal with the Beijing administration for safeguarding the entire Brahmaputra river basin comprising eastern India localities along with the north Bangladesh.
