Violence erupts in Manipur

Once again Manipur is burning where Naga protestors torched many vehicles on the streets in protest against the move to create seven New districts in the restive north eastern state.

Tribal protestors in large number spilled to the highway to block the surface communication opposing the move on Monday who turned violent and attacked many drivers and passengers forcing the security forces to step in.

“The situation is likely to go out of control if the authority fails to firmly deal with it in this stage ,” said a senior police official.

The government has deployed more and more security forces to bring the situation under control. But the protestors have made it plain that they would go to any extent if the government refuses to listen to them.
