UPPL annual conference from Jan 27
The United Peoples Party (Liberal) has decided to hold its first annual conference at Jalaishree Kachugaon with two day programme scheduled on January 27 and 28 next in Kokrajhar district.
A Reception Committee has been formed recently to conduct the conference with Jiran Basumatary, BTC
MCLA and Ukhil Mushahary
as president and secretary respectively.
Around 5000 delegates from different district committees of the BTAD and Assam are participating the conference.
The UPPL party will discuss on various issue and problems of Assam and BTAD political affairs, said If khan Gwra Brahma, president of the UPPL. Brahma has appealed to all sections of communities to cooperate in the conference to make a grand
success.

Apurna Narzary, an international women's football player, has been nominated for the Emerging Player award for 2022-23 by the Sports & Youth Welfare department of the government of Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). Narzary has represented India in several international events and is the daughter of Biswajit Narzary of Khagrabari village in Kokrajhar district. The award will be presented to her during the Baokhungri festival celebration at Baokhungri Hill site near Harinaguri in Kokrajhar.
