Uneasy calm in Manipur

Manipur might mire in yet another orgy of violence in near future as the Joint Council of Naga Civil Society has threatened to go to any extent alleging that the governments in state and Centre have disregarded the Naga peace framework.

In a statement, the organization questioned the creation of three new districts Kongpokpi, Jiribam and Tengnopol saying that it would stock a massive anger and protest once again.

The civil society platform asked the tribal hohos in Manipur to oppose the posting of valley based officers in the hills area and to burn down the Manipuri textbooks in the Naga dominated areas.
