Udalguri HS without science and Maths teacher for four years

At a time when government has been launching various new educational schemes for the benefit of the students and thousands of teachers are also being appointed, the plight of the students of a provincial High School in Udalguri district is telling other story.Situated in a remote village, ten KM away from Tangla town and fifteen KM from Kalaigaon town, Dhopguri High School has been running without even a single science or mathematics teacher for last four years ie since 2012.No science or mathematics classes had been held in class IX and X in the school during the period. The shocking news has come to light recently when students of the high school staged a demonstration in front of visiting RMSA officials.Miss Mablaba Boro,a class ten student of the school who is also the secretary of the schools' students body said that school science teacher Bhairab Chandra Bora was promoted as the Headmaster of the school in 2011 causing vacancy of the science teacher in the school. The other science teacher of the school too had been working in the school without science and mathematics background. The students also alleged that the headmaster seldom visits the school excusing ill health.Even teachers present confirmed the allegation saying that the headmaster attends school only three to four days in a month. It was shocking indeed to know that no science and maths classes had ever held in class nine and ten since 2012.With tears in their eyes students request education department of Assam or BTC to appoint science and maths teachers in the school immediately otherwise of which their future would be doomed. It needs mention that unit tests are running now and HSLC Pre-final and annual examinations will commence from December 8 shortly.People of the nearby villages urged BTC authority immediately to appoint science and mathematics teacher in the school so that new students are not suffered anymore
