The saying ‘Man proposes God disposes’ justifies the luck of Mukul Pathak, a co-accused in the bribery-case of Ripun Borah, the former Education Minister who was charged with making an effort to bribe a CBI officer to hush up a murder case in which the Minister Bora was alleged to be main accused . Mukul Pathak along with Minister Bora and one Ramesh Maheswari was granted bail by Special Judge RK Yadav of Patiala Court and ordered to deposit Rs.3 lakh and the passport. Ripun Bora and Ramesh Maheswari are reported to be capable enough to pay the amount to the court. But Mukul Pathak is said to be not in position to arrange such a heavy amount resulting him to be behind the bar of Tihar Jail for indefinite period. Mukul’s father is a primary school teacher who has no means to arrange such a large amount, According to what Mukul’s relatives if his father even sell out his whole property the amount would be too short to bail out his son.
Here a big question arises that must be thought about by the sociologists and other elite persons. No doubt Makul is an offender and has to face punishment. Is Mukul is the only responsible for it and not the ‘Bhogwadi Prabrity’ of the society? What instigated Mukul to be involved in the offence? To make palm hot of Government officers has not been new in a country where peoples’ representatives in the esteemed House of Parliament are purchased and sold out what of CBI officer. One must think if Muku’ls case is an exclusively a single example in the Indian Society.
