The Bodo Thunlai Afad (Bodo Sahitya Sabha) observed it's 64th foundation day with various colorful programme scheduled on Wednesday Bodo dominated areas across the state as well as nation.

Banargaon Primary Bodo Thunlai Afad observed the day as Thunlai San at Banargaon with day long programme scheduled in Kokrajhar district. Bodoland University Bodo Students Literary Society observed the day at university at Debargaon in Kokrajhar.

Barama Primary Bodo Sahitya Sabha observed the Thunlai San at Murmela LP School in Baksa district.

Dipen Boro, vice president of ABSU, Prof. Adaram Basumatary, Janata College, Serfanguri, Montumoni Ramchiary, noted writer were prominent attendees on the occasion.

The Thunlai San was also observed in different districts of the state and states, which included New Delhi, Kolkata, NJP, Shillong and Japha district of Nepal country.

Mentioned be made that Bodo Thunlai Afad was founded on November 16 in 1952 at Goybari, Basugaon in Chirang district. Jaybadhra Hagjer and Sonaram Thaosen were founder president and secretary of the sabha respectively.

MLA Mevani produced in court in Kokrajhar

Amid a strict security vigil, arrested Gujrat Congress MLA Jignesh Mevani was brought to Kokrajhar police station and later produced before the chief judicial magistrate (CJM) court. KOKRAJHAR: A Ganja smuggler was shot at by police in the Bishmuri area of Kokrajhar district late Wednesday night. The incident happened  in Kokrajhar in Bishmuri. The victim was rushed to the RNB civil hospital in Kokrajhar. Mukesh Kumar of Bihar was identified as the victim. KOKRAJHAR: The police nabbed three people with 91 Kgs of Ganja on Karigaon national highway in Kokrajhar on Wednesday.. The arrested persons were identified as Hasanur Rahman, Mithun Miya of Mankachar and Mukesh Kumar of Bihar. Hagrama Mohilary, BPF chief, released on bail

BPF chief Hagrama Mohilary was granted bail on Saturday and released against case CR 34/2020, accused of section 120-B/500 IPC from CJM court in Kokrajhar. Pramod Boro, the president of the United People’s Party of Luwahati, filed a complaint against  Mohilary, the former chief of Bodoland Territorial Council, at the court of CJM Kokrajhar for making derogatory remarks about him in February 2020. KOKRAJHAR: Two people were killed on the spot in a late-night road accident in Balajan Pakriguri under Kokrajhar police station. According to police, two people were travelling on a bike and met with mishaps that claimed two people on the spot at a roadside parking dumper in Pakriguri along JD Road late at night around 2.15 am on Tuesday night under Kokrajhar police station. Kokrajhar: The first ever edition of the All Assam Prize Money Non-Ranking Badminton Championship-2021 concluded on Tuesday after a two-day programme was scheduled to be held at the indoor stadium of the Kokrajhar District Sports Association (KDSA) in Kokrajhar district.
