Journalist Anuradha Sengupta recently interviewed Human Rights Activist Irom Sharmila who ended her almost sixteen-year-long fast in August. In the candid conversation, Irom talked about her struggles and acknowledged the fact that since her unique way of protesting for getting the draconian Armed Forces Special Powers Act repealed from Manipur did not fetch her the desired results, she decided to enter electoral politics. In her first full-length TV interview, Irom also talked about the hardships faced by Manipur residents and her future strategy to achieve what she has been aiming for nearly two decades.
