ADP college win Bhupen hazarika memorial football
The Anandaram Dhekial Phukan College football team won the Dr. Bhupen Hazarika Memorial Football Tournament organized by Hatichung College Students' Union at Kujidah Higher Secondary School playground. In the final played on Monday noon, ADP college defeated Kujidah Higher Secondary School team by 2-0 goals and grabbed the trophy. Both goals were scored by Hrishikesh Sarma of ADP football team. After the match, local dignitaries presented the winner and runners up trophy.

National Green Tribunal has asks for a response from the Centre and Assam government on a petition a number of companies in and around the Dehing-Patkai wildlife sanctuary in Tinsukia.
The tribunal also issued notices and sought responses of Indian Oil Corporation Ltd, Oil India Ltd, National Highways Authority of India, Coal India Ltd and various state authorities. The move follows a petition alleging that their activities was also affecting the two elephant corridors of Golai and Bogapani.
The bench headed by NGT Chairperson Justice Swatanter Kumar listed the matter for hearing on March 12.
According to the petition, the construction of NHAI’s NH-38 bypass was started without obtaining the pre-requisite forest clearance. “Municipal bodies of the area are dumping waste in the reserved forest of the sanctuary which is additionally getting polluted by the untreated discharges from a mine abandoned by Coal India Ltd as well as the activities of Oil India Ltd.” Said the petition.

A team of Assam Police has been camping in Mumbai for the last couple of weeks in search of a 16-year-old girl who has been remaining untraced for the last 10 months. But the clue eludes tie and again.
The police team is busy in the searh operation in view of the Gauhait High Court's directive of a progress report by on June 22.
Populrly known as Suhana Begum the girl from Hojai went missing from Pub-Bandarmela on August 25. He family members suspect Fatarul Nessa believes that she was hiding in Mumbai with a boy who she knows.
According to the allegations, Mehboob Alam and Aynullah lured her away to Mumbai forcing the family members to move the court.
The court asked polie to submit the status report on June 22 which is nearing.

The Bodo Sahitya Sabha has been organising an open discussion on Sunday at Commerce College auditorium hall in Kokrajhar to building peace and unity among Bodo organisation as well community.
Kamala Kanta Mushahary, general secretary of the BSS said that the sabha is organising the open discussion as per the resolution adopted recently especial delegate session held in Guwahati to create peace and unity among organisation.He said the sabha has invited all organisation and intellectuals to take part in the discussion and share views about building of peace and integration.He said the sabha will organise pen discussion in all four districts of the BTAD in coming days and tomorrow is the first discussion after adopting resolutions, he added.
